Noise-Based Control of Opinion Dynamics

چکیده
Designing feasible control strategies for opinion dynamics in complex social systems has never been an easy task. It requires a protocol, which 1) is not enforced on all individuals the society, and 2) does exclusively rely specific values shared by system. Thanks to recent studies noise-induced consensus dynamics, noise-based intervention strategy emerged as only one meeting both of above requirements, yet its underlying general theory still lacking. In this article, we perform rigorous theoretical analysis simulations formation, fraction affected randomly generated noise. We develop new approach prove existence noise protocol when it difficult be explicitly constructed that irrespective number noise-driven individuals, including case single noise-affected individual, system can controlled achieve quasi-consensus finite time, critical strength obtained. Our results highlight efficiency mechanisms dynamics.

Global Stabilization of Attitude Dynamics: SDRE-based Control Laws
The State-Dependant Riccati Equation method has been frequently used to design suboptimal controllers applied to nonlinear dynamic systems. Different methods for local stability analysis of SDRE controlled systems of order greater than two such as the attitude dynamics of a general rigid body have been extended in literature; however, it is still difficult to show global stability properties of...
متن کاملSteering opinion dynamics via containment control
In this paper, we model the problem of influencing the opinions of groups of individuals as a containment control problem, as in many practical scenarios, the control goal is not full consensus among all the individual opinions, but rather their containment in a certain range, determined by a set of leaders. As in classical bounded confidence models, we consider individuals affected by the conf...
متن کاملOpinion dynamics in a group-based society
Many models have been proposed to analyze the evolution of opinion structure due to the interaction of individuals in their social environment. Such models analyze the spreading of ideas both in completely interacting backgrounds and on social networks, where each person has a finite set of interlocutors. In this paper we analyze the reciprocal feedback between the opinions of the individuals a...
متن کاملOpinion dynamics with similarity-based random neighbors
A typical assumption made in the existing opinion formation models is that two individuals can communicate with each other only if the distance between their opinions is less than a threshold called bound of confidence. However, in the real world it is quite possible that people may also have a few friends with quite different opinions. To model this situation, we propose a bounded confidence p...
متن کاملOpinion dynamics model based on cognitive biases
We present an introduction to a novel model of an individual and group opinion dynamics, taking into account different ways in which different sources of information are filtered due to cognitive biases. The agent based model, using Bayesian updating of the individual belief distribution, is based on the recent psychology work by Dan Kahan. Open nature of the model allows to study the effects o...
